Magee funeral is held at Shawano
Former logger and oil company operator dies here Sunday; buried today
    Funeral services for C.W. Magee, 111 Sturgeon Eddy road, builder of the Magee apartments at Grand avenue and Sturgeon Eddy, who died at his home Sunday afternoon at 12:30 o’clock after an illness of two years, several months of which he was confined to his bed, were held this afternoon at Shawano, his former
home. Services were at the home of his sister, Mrs. William Gibbs, and at the Presbyterian church at Shawano. The Masonic lodge at Shawano had charge of the funeral. Interment was in a Shawano cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. A.W. Prehn, the latter his daughter, and their family attended the funeral.
    The deceased was born at Shawano sixty six years ago. He was married forty-three years ago at Shawano to Adelaide Walker who died in Wausau July 30, 1928. In November of the same year he was married to Vira Briggs of Antigo.
    Mr. Magee was for many years in the logging business at Shawano, operating in Forest county and in the eastern part of Marathon county. He came to Wausau in 1919 and in 1927 established the Magee Oil company which he operated for about two years. Since that time he erected three apartment buildings.
Surviving are the widow; one daughter, Mrs. Prehn; three sisters, Mrs. Gibbs and Mrs. August Anderson of Shawano and Mrs. Charles Syring of Campbellsport and three (copy is cut off here).
