Donald 'Don’ S. Tourtillott
Donald "Don" S. Tourtillott, age 69, of Keshena, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at his residence, surrounded by his wife and children.
Don was born on Jan. 11, 1935, in Keshena, the son of the late Miles and Rose (Frechette) Tourtillott. On Sept. 24,1960, Don was united in marriage to Pat Jacobs in Neopit. Don was a veteran, having served in the United States Army. He later became a logger. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being in the outdoors.
Don is survived by: his wife, Pat; his children, Valerie (Jeff) Dixon, Brian Tourtillott, Vicki Tourtillott, and Jay (special friend, Brenda) Tourtillott, all of Keshena; 11 grandchildren, Chasidie, Lacy, Delta, Jeffrey, Jwin, Forrest, Brandon, Donald, Myles, BJ, Travis; his sisters, Olga (Jim) Doran of Keshena, Joy (Ray) Phillips of Green Bay, Patsy Tourtillott of Keshena, Sylvia (Richard) Dodge of Keshena; his aunt, Janice Tourtillott; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins. Don was preceded in death by: his parents; four brother; three sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 27, at 3 p.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Neopit with the Rev. David Kiefer officiating. Friends may call at the Valerie Dixon residence at N1155 Grey Eagle Trail in Keshena after 4 p.m. on Thursday until the procession leaves for the church on Saturday. A parish wake service will be held this evening at 7:30. Military rites will be conducted by the Veterans of the Menominee Nation and the Menominee American Legion Post #497 at the church following services. Swedberg Funeral Home of Shawano is assisting the family with the arrangements.
The family would like to extend a thank you to Don's long time devoted friend, Louis "Niege" Washinawatok, Jr., who stood by his side when he needed him the most. Also, a very special thank you to his nurse, Mary Meinhardt and to Father David Kiefer.
