Below is the obituary for James C. Magee from the Bonduel Times, Nov. 9, 1916:
James Cook Magee dies at old age of 81 years, 7 months and 21 days
Mr. James Cook Magee was born in Guillensbury, Canada in 1835. Came to Two Rivers, Wis., with his parents in the year 1856. In 1859 he was married to Miss Anna Stockwell of Two Rivers where they resided until 1872, when they came to the town of Angelica, Shawano Co., Wisconsin. He was the father of ten children, one girl and nine boys, eight of whom are living, namely: Mrs. T. H. Lutsey, Hugh, John, Richard, Robert, Tom, Henry and Forest. He also leaves to mourn his wife, twenty one grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren, and two sisters Mrs. D. M. McKensey of Milwaukee and Hannah Magee of Angelica.
Mr. Magee was a man of great energy coming to these parts in the pioneer days with his good, faithful and loving wife, enduring many hardships incidental to those times, but always cheerful and hopeful he seemed to inspire those within whom he came in contact with. He was a logger spending many years in the woods, and was well liked by all men under him.
Mr. Magee passed away at his home in Angelica at 11:30 Friday night, Nov. 3, 1916. Age 81 years, 7 months and 21 days. The funeral was held Monday afternoon. Rev. Spitzer of Angelica officiating.
