James Anderson, Rt. 2, Shawano, dies on Tuesday
    James M. Anderson, 79, of route 2, Shawano, died Tuesday, June 8. He had been ailing for the past several months.
Mr. Anderson was born Jan. 3, 1892 in the town of Wescott. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Anderson. He had spent his life time as a logger and contractor in this area.
    He was graduated from Shawano High School with the class of 1910. He attended Carroll College and later Ferris Institute at Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was a well known athlete at Carroll College where he played football and was a member of the track team and belonged to the Carroll College Letterman’s Club.
On May 16, 1914, he married Eva Gilkey. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Shawano.
    Survivors are his wife, Eva; one daughter, Lucille Anderson of Cicero, Illinois and one son, James E. Anderson, Shawano. Also surviving are 3 grandchildre and three great-grandchildren and one sister, Florence Youmans of San Diego, California. Two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
    Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Born Funeral Home. The Rev. Charles Damp will officiate
and interment will be in Hickory Cemetery, Oconto County. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. on Wednesday until the time of the service.
