Following is the obituary for John Magee from the Manitowoc Co. Chronicle, Aug. 29, 1893 and Sept. 5, 1893

Mr. John Magee Esq. of the town of Two Rivers died at his residence in said town last Thursday morning, after a long and painful illness. He was one of the old residents of Two Rivers town and a man of unquestioned honor. He was a man widely known and universally esteemed and wielded considerable influence both politically and socially. His death will be severely felt not only by his family by whom he was most fondly loved but by the entire community in which he resided, for he sought the welfare of his neighbors and won their confidence and respect by his just and upright conduct towards all. His funeral took place last Sunday afternoon and was attended by neighbors and friends from far and near.
John Magee was born near Bradford in Canada West, or what is now known as the Province of Ontario in the year 1833 May 23. At the age of 18 he left Canada and resided for a few years in the State of New York but being unable to decide on a permanent location he came to Wisconsin, then in 1857 crossed the plains to Salt Lake City, remaining there two eyars; then returned to St. Clair Co., Ill., where he was married and lived for 14 years. in 1872, he came to Two Rivers and resided here up to the end of his life.
