Chronicle:
Married: At the residence of the
groom’s parents, at Laney, Shawano county, Wis., June
28th, 1892, Johnie Svendsen and Lizzie Sechrest.
The ceremony was performed by Rev.
Peterson, of Green Bay, and was very impressive. The groom is a
gentleman residing since his boyhood in Shawano county, and in
high esteem by all who have the pleasure of his acquaintance.
The bride is a very estimable lady of Two Rivers, Wis. She is
also well known in Shawano county, having taught in our public
schools for a number of terms in the county. The bride wore a
robe of pale tan satin and carried white roses. The bridesmaids
were the Misses Kate, Etta and Mattie Sechrest; the groom was
attended by the Messrs Frank, G. A. and Jas. Magee. After the
ceremony the tables were laid on the spacious lawn, and a most
bountiful repast served to about a hundred guests.
Among the guests from abroad were Jacob
Sechrest, Kate Sechrest, Mattie Sechrest, Etta Sechrest, Mr.
and Mrs. John Sechrest and baby, Miss Hannah Magee, also Thos.
Lahey, Katie McKenzie, Joe. Shambeau, all of Two Rivers; Mr.
and Mrs. Chas. Magee, Mrs. Will. Gibbs, Miss Beatrice Magee,
and Grace Ainsworth, of Shawano, also Mr. and Mrs. Knudsen and
family, of town of Chase, and the Misses Jensen, of Ft. Howard.
The above wedding notice is copied from
the Shawano Journal to which, in addition thereto, was appended
a long list of valuable and useful presents which the happy
young couple received.
