From the Shawano Leader, Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1992 Mary Louise Magee, age 82, of Shawano, died Monday, Nov. 23, 1992.
She was born Sept. 27, 1910 in Rosebud, Texas to the late Wilfred H.
and Mary Louise (Edwards) Wright. She married Kenneth E. Magee in
Providence, Texas on March 30, 1935. Shortly after their marriage, the
couple came to the town of Angelica, where they farmed until 1952, when
they moved to the town of Harland. They moved to Shawano in 1989.
Kenneth preceded her in death Jan. 18, 1992. Mary Louise was one of the
first in the state to have the position as County Homemaker for Shawano
Social Services, and she served on some state advisories in that
capacity. She was a member of the Angelica United
Methodist Church, and the U.M.W., and had taught Sunday school. She was
very involved in the life of the church. Survivors include one son,
Tom (Kathy) Magee of Clintonville; five daughters, Laurie Magee (Tom)
Blajeski of Omro, Kay Magee of Appleton, Cathy (Dennis) Molkentin of
Shawano, Marilyn (John) Magee-Powell of Minneapolis, and Melissa Magee
(Ralph) Rutledge of Stanley, N.C.; nine grandchildren; two sisters,
Kathleen and Hannah; and one brother, Joseph Robert, all of Texas. She
was preceded in death by two children, five brothers, and one sister.
Friends may call at the Angelica United Methodist Church on Friday from
10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. at the church with
Pastor James H. Cotter officiating. Burial in Rest Haven Cemetery in
the town of Angelica. The Wendt Funeral Home of Bonduel is in charge of
arrangements.
