From the Oshkosh Daily Northwestern, Monday, Oct. 16, 1933:
The
condition of Mrs. Nettie Smally, 87, who suffered a concussion of the
brain when she fell down the stairs at the Elwood hotel, is critical
and no hope is held for her recovery. She is a sister of the late
Elwood Lutsey, first white child born in New London, and has been a
resident of the city for over 80 years.
