OBITUARY EXTRACTION:
NAME & ADDRESS: Evelyn Marie Nichol,
age 91, Minocqua, died on Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, at Inn Care
of Minocqua.
BIRTH & PARENTS: Evelyn was born on
Jan. 28, 1913, in Gillett, the daughter of Carl and Carolyn
(nee Koeppen) Thompson.
INTERESTS - EMPLOYMENT: Evelyn came to
Minocqua in 1932 to work as a secretary for the manager of
Wisconsin Public Service. In the 1950's and 1960's she was the
bookkeeper for Minocqua Lumber Co. Evelyn was an outdoor
enthusiast; she loved hiking, canoeing, skiing, gardening and
snowmobiling. She was very talented in sewing, cooking, and
flower arranging.
SURVIVORS: Survivors include: her son,
George David Nichol of Minocqua; her daughter, Barbara (Frank)
Murzyn of Chicago Heights, W.; two grandchildren, Dr. Carrie
(Brad Hess) Klabunde of Rockville, Md, Keith Klabunde of
Chicago; her two brothers, Lloyd and Carl Thompson, both of
Milwaukee; her sister-in-law, Lucille Thompson of Oconto Falls;
numerous nieces and nephews.
PRECEDED BY: She was preceded in death by:
her parents; her husband, George, in 1993; two sisters, Gladys
Neumann, Irene Magee.
FUNERAL SERVICES AND BURIAL: A graveside
service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 4, at
Evergreen Cemetery in Woodruff. A memorial service will be held
on Wednesday, Sept. 15, at United Methodist Church of the Pines
in Minocqua at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are
suggested to either the Wisconsin Wildlife Association or to
Disabled American Organizations. Bolger FUneral and Cremation
Services of Minocqua is serving the family.
