Below is the obituary for Ruth Gertrude Prehn from the July 17, 1979 West Bend News: Ruth Gertrude Vint, nee Prehn, of Sun City, Ariz., died Monday, July 16, at West Bend. She was 65. She was born Feb. 7, 1914, at Wausau, and married Arthur Harold Vint at Wausau Dec. 28, 1935.
She was raised in Wausau and graduated from Wausau High School and
attended Milwaukee Downer College. She graduated from Carlton College,
Northfield, Minn. She resided in Wausau until 1962. Her husband passed away Dec. 7, 1971.
Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Alice (Stuart J.) Harris of
Haughton, La., one granddaughter, Cynthia Gaye Harris; one sister,
Margaret (Dr. William) Nielsen of West Bend and other relatives and
friends. She belonged to the Wausau Chapter of
the DAR and was the district president of the Federated Woman’s Club in
Wisconsin. Funeral services will be Wednesday at
7:15 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, West Bend. Rev. Victor Hackbarth
will officiate. Visitation at the church will be Wednesday from 6 p.m. until time of services. Techtman-Myrhum Funeral Home, West Bend, is in charge of services.
