Thompson Rites At Gillett at 2 PM Today
Carl O. Thompson, 85, Shawano, formerly
of Gillett, died Saturday morning, November 23, following a
week of illness.
Mr. Thompson was born January 1, 1878 at
Iola. For the past 20 years he had resided at Shawano and
before that lived at Gillette for 30 years. He was a retired
Railroad man. He was married to the former Terry Koeppen, who
died in 1946. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Gillett.
Funeral services were conducted this
afternoon (Monday) at the Kuehl Funeral Home, Gillett.
The Rev. Leslie Simon officiated and
interment was in the Wanderer’s Rest Cemetery, Gillett.
There were Masonic rites at the graveside.
The daughters and five sons survive. They
are: Mrs. Hugh McGee, Shawano; Mrs. Edward Neumann, Marinette,
Mrs. George Nichol, Minocqua; Russell, California; Robert,
Gillett; Kenneth, Oconto Falls and Carl and Lloyd of Milwaukee.
One sister, Mrs. Frank Black, of Peola, Kansas and 33
grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren also survive.
